Client: STEPS to Engineering
Engineered! A Week of Wonder is a week-long programme of interactive events celebrating the world of engineering in Ireland. For one week, the public have an opportunity to discover what engineering is all about and its importance in our lives.
Regional treasure hunts were the highlight of the week in 2008, with thousands of students and parents swarming the city centres of Cork, Limerick, Galway, Athlone and Dublin. In each city, participants followed a trail that took them through interactive workshops where they made periscopes, learned about sustainable energy, explored a Navy Boat, learned how the Irish Army detects landmines, saw the engineering behind how our clothes are made, and experienced the engineering behind art!
Real Events was responsible for managing all aspects of the treasure hunts including liaising with participants in advance of event, client liaison, recruitment and training of all crew, registration, branding each venue and leading groups from one location to another while solving clues en route. Real Events staff’ infectious enthusiasm and positive energy ensured the students interest and excitement as they travelled on their journey of discovery.
